WORLD BANK TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING ZAMBIA’S INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT AGENDA THROUGH PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS

The World Bank’s Managing Director and Group Chief Administrative Officer, Dr Wencai Zhang, has assured the Zambian Government of the Bank’s support
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Hon. Eng. Charles Milupi at Infrastructure House this morning, Dr. Zhang said that the World Bank Group will continue to support the development of major transport corridors, improvement of rural accessibility, and provide technical assistance to Zambia’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure development agenda.
Hon Eng Charles Milupi said the history of Zambia cannot be told without the mention of the World Bank adding that the World Bank Group is an all-weather friend, partner to Zambia’s developmental aspiration.
Hon Eng Charles Milupi said the World Bank has always been a strong supporter of Zambia’s development agenda, apart from the support towards many other areas across the country.
He added that the New Dawn Administration is comforted by the support from the World Bank through the Emergency Response to the Declaration of the National Disaster by President Hakainde Hichilema.
This support, coming on the back of the unprecedented drought situation, will ensure food security for the most vulnerable and provide the most efficient sources of energy to support both individuals and businesses.
