The Minister of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development, Hon. Eng Charles Milupi, has urged the contractors of the Monze-Niko Road to continue moving at the same pace to ensure the delivery of an international standard road.
The over 900-million-kwacha road works by China Geo-Engineering Corporation and Chipangano Builders Limited began on 21st September 2023 and are expected to be completed next year.
Meanwhile, Resident Engineer Robby Ngulube has revealed that, the construction of the road has created over 200 jobs for the locals since its inception.
The scope of works includes the upgrading of the road to bituminous standard, rehabilitation of 30 kilometres paved section, construction of three major box culverts, road finishing and landscaping, road signs and markings.
