About Us

The National Housing Forum was established in 2022 and it is held every 2 years. The general objective of the Forum is to proactively coordinate the housing sector towards unlocking, strengthening and repositioning the Housing Value Chain in Zambia – to achieve affordable and decent housing for all by 2030. The Forum also plays a vital role in creating and broadening synergies and linkages, improving efficiencies, generating and sharing knowledge, streamlining multisectoral collective efforts, crowding in local and global partnerships, and ensuring effective formulation and implementation of policies, legal and regulatory frameworks and other interventions aimed at bridging the housing deficit in Zambia – by using sustainable means.

Our Mission

Our mission is to facilitate dialogue, collaboration, and action towards addressing the housing challenges facing Zambia. Through advocacy, research, and partnerships, we strive to promote policies and initiatives that expand access to decent and affordable housing for all Zambians.

Advocacy and Policy Influence

We advocate for policies and regulations that support the development of affordable housing solutions and foster a conducive environment for housing development in Zambia. By engaging with policymakers and stakeholders, we work to influence change at the national and local levels.

Capacity Building and Training

We provide training and capacity-building programs for housing professionals, government officials, and community members to enhance their knowledge and skills in housing finance, construction, urban planning, and sustainable development practices.

Research and Knowledge Sharing

We conduct research and gather data to better understand the housing needs and challenges facing Zambia. Through our publications, seminars, and conferences, we share knowledge and best practices to inform evidence-based decision-making and innovative solutions.

Partnerships and Collaboration

We collaborate with government agencies, non-profit organizations, private sector entities, and international partners to leverage resources, expertise, and networks in support of our housing agenda. By working together, we can amplify our impact and accelerate progress towards our shared goals.
